STORY/ANIMATED WORKS

SCARLET BLACKHEART (2018)

While teaching Writing for Animation/Storyboarding at UCLA, my flexible schedule offered me a bit more free time. So, I took the opportunity to write and visually develop another silly little pilot. This particular concept was inspired by the historical exploits of bad-ass female pirates and one of my favorite computer games growing up, Monkey Island. Artistically, I guess I was still sort of conforming to Fox Animation style guidelines. I’ve included the one page with a summary and some concept/character art.

Legend of Vexely (2015)

Here are some visual excerpts from a pilot I wrote with a friend while we were in film school together. The idea for the series came to me after I visited my mom in Italy and was quite taken by all the amazing medieval artwork I absorbed in museums. I wanted to incorporate the intensity of the visual experience into a comedic, Monty Python/historically inspired/sorta ridiculous series.

Attack of the Killer Trees (2014)

After a year or two in the animation program at UCLA, I created this animated short that won some awards. It screened internationally in festivals and was chosen by Matt Groening to receive funding under the Groening Fellowship.
